These Terms of Use, also called our Terms of Service or Terms & Conditions, describe the use of elkasoft.xyz and its download information. Contact us through the details above for legal questions; use ElkaSoft support for installation and usage help.

Website terms and application licences

Each application is supplied under the licence or end-user agreement accompanying that release. Microsoft Store purchases and downloads are also subject to the applicable Store terms. Those terms govern the software and take precedence over any conflicting wording on this website. This page does not impose additional restrictions on an open-source licence or change an existing software agreement.

Read the licence, release notes, compatibility information and installation guide before installing. A download link does not grant rights beyond the licence for that application.

Use software with care

Install only on systems you are authorised to manage. Check the operating system, hardware, host application and other requirements. Back up important files and settings before installing or changing your setup, and test unfamiliar software before relying on it for important work.

Audio and routing tools can change signal paths, gain and device behaviour. Begin at a low listening level and check for feedback. Stop using a release if you encounter unexpected behaviour.

Dev, Beta and Pre-alpha releases

Early releases are offered for evaluation and testing. They can contain bugs, incomplete features, compatibility problems or changes that require a rollback. Use a test environment where possible and keep a way to restore your previous configuration. A Stable label or digital signature does not promise that software is error-free or suitable for every setup.

Software disclaimer

ElkaSoft is an independent personal software project. I take care in developing and testing the software, but my testing cannot cover every computer or setup. The software is provided “as is”, without a guarantee that it will be error-free, completely secure or compatible with your system.

You install and use the software at your own risk. Read the instructions, keep backups and test it with your setup before relying on it.

To the extent the law permits, I accept no responsibility for loss, damage or disruption resulting from use of the software. This disclaimer does not override the application’s licence or any rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

External services and support

GitHub, Microsoft Store, Discord, Ko-fi and other linked services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Prices, availability, account requirements, refunds and support arrangements may depend on the service and application. ElkaSoft does not promise a support response time or lifetime updates unless a specific agreement says otherwise.

Optional donations support development. They do not by themselves buy a software licence, priority support or a promise of future features. Any separately advertised purchase or subscription has its own terms.

Changes to these terms

The date at the top identifies this version. Future changes apply going forward and do not replace the licence or terms already applicable to an earlier purchase or download. Any required notice or agreement will be provided separately.
