Green for Stable. Amber for Dev. The version number and signing status sit below each download button.
Stable
The normal published release. A good starting point when you want the version intended for regular use.
- Shown with a green button.
- Links directly to that version’s GitHub installer or download.
- Read its release notes for changes and requirements.
Dev build
A GitHub prerelease with earlier features and fixes. In FX Host, this is the Beta update channel.
- Shown with an amber button.
- May include unfinished features or bugs.
- Has its own version and signing status.
What does “signed” mean?
Signed: a digital signature can identify the publisher and help verify that a file has not changed since signing. It does not guarantee that an application is bug-free.
Unsigned: there is no publisher signature. Windows may show a warning because it cannot verify the publisher through a signature.
Signing labels reflect the publisher’s release information. If a new release does not state its signing status, we show “Signing not specified.” Stable and Dev labels alone do not determine signing.
Release numbers, links, notes, and app guides refresh from the public GitHub projects. If GitHub is temporarily unavailable, the last available release information stays visible.
